APELON ANNOUNCES NEW RELEASE OF DATA INTEROPERABILITY SOLUTION
New Release Simplifies Creation and Maintenance of Data Maps

Ridgefield, CT, February 26, 2007 – Apelon, supplier of healthcare terminology solutions, today announced availability of a new version of its TermWorks mapping solution for pharmaceutical, healthcare provider and information exchange organizations.

TermWorks is a web services-based solution for healthcare data interoperability that offers advanced terminology search, navigation, and mapping. Users access TermWorks capabilities through the web, using a familiar interface such as Excel, or any web-services enabled client application. Apelon provides all the background processing, including access to a comprehensive set of local, national and international terminologies, such as ICD-9-CM, SNOMED ©, LOINC © and RxNorm.

Version 6 of TermWorks introduces new capabilities to improve productivity and data mapping quality, including:

Enhanced display of concept relationships, mappings, and descriptive properties.
Customizable “look ups” in internal databases or external sources such as Google © or PubMed.
Improved matching with spelling and typographical error correction.
Custom abbreviation files.
Enhanced installation and configuration for custom web-services deployments.
