APELON ANNOUNCES RENEWAL OF MODELING TOOL FOR SNOMED CT

Terminology Development Environment to be used by IHTSDO 

Ridgefield, CT, June 24, 2010 – Apelon, Inc., a leading provider of terminology and data interoperability solutions, today announced that the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organization (IHTSDO) has renewed its license to the Terminology Development Environment (TDE) modeling tool for ongoing development and management of SNOMED CT®.

TDE is an advanced terminology modeling tool for the creation, evolution, and maintenance of structured terminologies. TDE uses formal Description Logic principles and procedures to ensure the consistency and integrity of formal terminologies. Use of TDE simplifies the development process, leads to improved quality of reference terminologies, and facilitates the integration of the terminologies into a variety of healthcare information systems.
